The Golden Knish

Last night my son (Sky's nephew) said "Remember the Golden Knish?" without at first realizing that it was a story about Sky. We both realized it at the same moment, and I told him that it's important and a good thing to remember the happy stories about Sky. And there are a ton of them - the guy was a crackup, and a really fun uncle. This one happened about 5 years ago when Sky was visiting us in Seattle. He and Caelan (then about 5) were racing cars on the kitchen floor, and the metal divider thing between the kitchen floor and the dining room floor was the finish line. Caelan called it the Golden Finish Line, and Sky said "What? The Golden Knish?" and for some reason that hit us all as hysterically funny, and ever since, my family has always called those metal floor dividers Golden Knishes (even when they're silver, as in the house we live in now) and they always remind me of Sky. (A knish is a Jewish pastry thingy, and the "k" is pronounced, like "ka-nish".)
